Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about Subscription-based IT Infrastructure

Pricing & Contracts

How much does Subscription-based IT Infrastructure cost?
Pricing depends on your specific requirements including number of users, locations, bandwidth needs, and support level. As a reference: a 10-person office typically ranges from ₱18,000-25,000/month, a 50-person office from ₱45,000-65,000/month, and larger deployments are custom-quoted. All pricing includes equipment, installation, 24/7 monitoring, and support.
Is there any upfront cost or down payment?
No large capital investment is required. There is zero CAPEX for equipment. Some deployments may have a small setup fee to cover site survey and initial configuration, but this is typically included in the first month's payment. Your custom quote will clearly outline any initial costs.
What is included in the monthly fee?
Everything you need: all network equipment (switches, routers, firewalls, Wi-Fi), professional installation and configuration, 24/7 monitoring and support, security updates, firmware management, hardware replacement if needed, monthly performance reports, and our 99.95% uptime SLA.
How long is the contract term?
Standard contracts are 36 months (3 years), which allows us to provide the best pricing. We also offer 24-month and 60-month terms. Month-to-month options are available for certain scenarios at a premium rate.
What happens if I want to cancel early?
If you need to exit before the contract term ends, there is typically an early termination fee. However, we work with you to find solutions, including equipment buyout options or contract transfers. Specific terms are outlined in your service agreement.
Can I buy the equipment at the end of the contract?
Yes, you have the option to purchase the equipment at fair market value at the end of your contract term. You can also upgrade to newer equipment, continue the service, or return the equipment.
Are there any hidden fees?
No. We believe in transparent pricing. Your monthly fee covers everything outlined in your agreement. The only additional costs would be if you request changes to your network (adding locations, significant capacity increases) or optional premium services not in your original contract.

Equipment & Technology

What brands of equipment do you use?
We primarily deploy Juniper Networks equipment, which is recognized by Gartner as a leader in enterprise networking. For specific use cases, we also use WatchGuard firewalls and other industry-leading brands. All equipment is enterprise-grade, not consumer or small business equipment.
Can I choose specific equipment models?
We design your network based on your requirements and recommend the best equipment for your use case. If you have specific brand preferences or existing infrastructure to integrate with, we can accommodate that in most cases. Our goal is to match the right equipment to your needs.
What if equipment fails or needs replacement?
Hardware replacement is included in your service. If equipment fails, we provide next-business-day replacement at no additional cost. For critical infrastructure, we can include spare equipment on-site for immediate failover.
Who owns the equipment?
1IX owns the equipment during the contract term. You have exclusive use of it, and we maintain it. This is similar to a car lease - you use it exclusively, but don't own it. At contract end, you can purchase, upgrade, or return the equipment.
Can you work with my existing equipment?
Yes, we can integrate with some existing infrastructure in hybrid scenarios. However, equipment must be compatible and meet our service standards. We'll assess your current setup during the network design phase.

Implementation & Migration

How long does deployment take?
Typical timeline from signed contract to live network: 2-3 weeks for small to medium offices, 4-6 weeks for campus or multi-site deployments. This includes equipment procurement, installation, configuration, testing, and migration. Rush deployments can be accommodated for additional fees.
Will there be downtime during installation?
We minimize downtime through careful planning. For new locations, there's no downtime since there's no existing network. For migrations, we typically install new equipment in parallel and switch over during a planned maintenance window (often after-hours or weekends), resulting in minimal disruption.
Do you handle the migration from our old network?
Yes, migration is included. We document your current setup, replicate configurations on new equipment, test thoroughly, and execute the cutover. We handle moving VLANs, IP schemes, firewall rules, VPNs, and all network services.
What if we have multiple locations?
We can deploy to all locations simultaneously or in phases, depending on your preference. Each site follows the same quality process. We also set up site-to-site connectivity (VPN, MPLS, SD-WAN) to link your locations into one cohesive network.
Do we need to provide anything for installation?
You need to provide: site access, power outlets near equipment locations, and any existing network information for migration. We handle everything else including cabling, rack mounting, and configuration. A site survey is done beforehand to identify any special requirements.
Can you work around our business hours?
Yes, we schedule installations to minimize impact on your operations. This often means evening or weekend work for the cutover. Our team is flexible and will work with your schedule.

Support & Operations

What kind of support do you provide?
All plans include 24/7 monitoring, incident response, and support from certified network engineers. Support tiers vary by plan: Essential (email + portal), Professional (phone support, faster response), Enterprise (dedicated engineer, 1-hour response, on-site visits). All plans include proactive monitoring and alerting.
How fast do you respond to issues?
Response times depend on your support tier and severity. Critical outages get immediate attention across all tiers. Professional tier: 4-hour response for critical issues. Enterprise tier: 1-hour response for critical issues with on-site support available. All response times are contractually guaranteed.
Do you monitor our network 24/7?
Yes, all networks are monitored 24/7/365 from our Network Operations Center (NOC). We proactively monitor availability, performance, security threats, and capacity. You receive alerts for issues, and our team begins troubleshooting before users even notice problems in many cases.
What is your uptime guarantee?
We provide a 99.95% uptime SLA, backed by service credits if we fail to meet it. This translates to less than 22 minutes of downtime per month. Planned maintenance windows are scheduled in advance and don't count against SLA.
Can we still make changes to our network?
Absolutely. You can request configuration changes, add VLANs, modify firewall rules, and make other changes through our support portal. Routine changes are included; major reconfigurations or capacity expansions may adjust your monthly fee.
Do you provide reports on network performance?
Yes, you receive monthly performance reports showing uptime, bandwidth utilization, top applications, security events, and any incidents. Enterprise tier customers also get quarterly business reviews with recommendations for optimization.
Is training provided for our IT staff?
Yes, we provide handover training after deployment to show your team how to use the monitoring portal, request changes, and understand network topology. Additional training sessions can be arranged. However, our team handles all operational tasks - your staff doesn't need to manage the network.

General Questions

How is Subscription IT different from just hiring a managed service provider?
Traditional MSPs usually manage equipment you purchase. With Subscription IT, we provide the equipment, manage it, monitor it, and replace it if needed - all for a predictable monthly fee. You get enterprise equipment with zero capital investment, which traditional MSPs don't offer.
What industries do you serve?
We serve BPOs, ISPs, real estate (condos, offices), healthcare facilities, educational institutions, and general enterprises across the Philippines. Our solutions are customized for each industry's specific requirements and compliance needs.
Do you support networks outside Metro Manila?
Yes, we deploy nationwide across the Philippines. Our support is remote for most activities, with on-site visits available based on your support tier and location. Major cities have faster on-site response times.
What if your company goes out of business?
We understand this concern. Our contracts include provisions for this scenario, including equipment transfer or buyout options. We also maintain insurance and financial stability. You're not locked into a situation where your network disappears if something happens to us.
Can we scale up or down during the contract?
Yes, we accommodate business growth or changes. Adding capacity (more ports, locations, bandwidth) is straightforward and adjusts your monthly fee. Scaling down is also possible, though may have contract implications depending on the specific change.
Do you handle internet connectivity too?
We design networks to work with any ISP and can help you select appropriate internet services. While we don't provide internet connectivity directly, we can coordinate with your ISP for installation and manage the network equipment that connects to them.
Is this suitable for temporary projects or events?
Subscription IT is designed for ongoing operational networks (offices, campuses, data centers). For temporary events or short-term projects under 12 months, we can discuss rental options, though they may not be cost-effective compared to traditional equipment rental.
How do I get started?
Start by requesting a quote. We'll schedule a brief call to understand your needs, then provide a detailed network design with equipment specifications and pricing within 48 hours. If you approve, we can usually deploy within 2-3 weeks.
