Dell official documentation wins. Vendor sites may supply prices, option labels and evidence, but may not override Dell compatibility.

The Dell-verified v2 workbook is the source of the catalog and rules below. Dell documentation takes precedence over reseller compatibility claims. Reseller prices are a September 10, 2026 snapshot.
Coverage & limits
The prototype enforces CPU counts, DIMM banks and symmetry, declared memory-type exclusions, capacity limits, separate bay domains, adapters, GPU prerequisites and riser slot envelopes.
The workbook does not supply a complete per-SKU Dell compatibility matrix, DIMM technology/ranks, CPU memory speed and TDP, exact slot dimensions/attachments, cable/backplane mappings, cooling-kit prices, or low-line PSU outputs. These are mandatory review requirements. A selection passing the encoded rules is not a Dell-certified configuration.
Admin changes control prices, stock and lead time. They cannot turn unresolved compatibility into verified compatibility. R750/R760 require their own catalog and verified platform rules before being enabled.
Allow 1 or 2 CPUs only.
Open authoritative reference ↗Enable only A1-A12; maximum 12 populated DIMMs.
Open authoritative reference ↗Memory configuration for CPU1 and CPU2 must be identical.
Open authoritative reference ↗Do not mix RDIMM and LRDIMM. Do not mix NVDIMM-N and LRDIMM. Apply other Dell technology-specific mixing rules.
Open authoritative reference ↗Do not mix more than two DIMM capacities in one system.
Open authoritative reference ↗Effective speed = minimum of DIMM rated speed, CPU maximum, platform/population limit and selected profile. 2933 MT/s requires one DIMM per channel.
Open authoritative reference ↗Front domain maximum is 12 physical carriers. Do not treat this as total system drive limit.
Open authoritative reference ↗Mid domain maximum is 4 carriers when a supported mid tray is installed.
Open authoritative reference ↗Rear domain maximum depends on selected cage: 2 LFF or 4 SFF.
Open authoritative reference ↗Require a valid 2.5-to-3.5 adapter/carrier assembly.
Open authoritative reference ↗Require six high-performance fans and 1U high-performance heatsink(s); DIMM blanks required per Dell table.
Open authoritative reference ↗Require six high-performance fans. Heatsink selection depends on CPU TDP.
Open authoritative reference ↗Validate every card against selected riser slot count, lane width, height/length and CPU attachment. Platform maximum is 8 cards, not 9.
Open authoritative reference ↗Do not infer full 8-slot availability. Select only a Dell-supported riser/rear-storage combination and recalculate available slots.
Open authoritative reference ↗Require two CPUs.
Open authoritative reference ↗Require GPU enablement kit, GPU air shroud, appropriate GPU risers/cables, two 1U CPU heatsinks and six high-performance fans.
Open authoritative reference ↗All GPUs must be same type and model.
Open authoritative reference ↗Absolute platform envelope: <=3 double-wide or <=6 single-wide, then apply exact riser/model slot-priority restrictions.
Open authoritative reference ↗PSU rating must be >=1100 W and PSU mode non-redundant per Dell GPU guidance; GPU >75 W needs power cable.
Open authoritative reference ↗Allow up to two supported 80 mm M.2 SATA drives; BOSS-S1 creates one virtual disk.
Open authoritative reference ↗Use Dell low-line available-output rating, not nameplate wattage, when validating power budget.

The gallery uses the 1WAN seed image set. The interior switches between one and two CPU heatsinks with the selected processor count, retaining two stacked rear-left SSD carriers. The front view shows the open top cover, rails and detached bezel. Fine details, DIMM population and network ports are illustrative. The rear closeup is a layout reference with different drive labels. Other photographic details stay at the seed state until new visual variants are agreed; the selected component list and quote describe the actual configuration.
